Top 5 things on why I love living in Southampton:

So I was stuck on what my next blog piece should be about, so I asked google, and of course it gave me some suggestions. The top one being to write a list. So I thought why not write a list about what I love about Southampton.

Here it is in no particular order.

1. Everything is in such close proximity.
Living in a village it makes me so isolated compared to my friends living in a town. I spend so much money on petrol each day driving to work, meeting friends etc. There's not even any bus services!!   I love the fact I can just walk home on a night out or walk down the road to get some milk if I have ran out. That the shops, pubs, popular students places are less than a 10 minute walk.

2. Distance is a test to see how far love can travel.
Being away from my friends is very hard and I miss them everyday, but it also tests your friendship. If you usually speak to them or see them everyday and that suddenly stops it suggests you're loosing contact with them. If they don't make the same amount of effort as you, are they really that bothered about hearing about your day?

3. New friends.
I have made some amazing friends being at Southampton. Some I wouldn't socialise myself with back at home, but it strangely works. With some having similar personalities to me or the complete opposite it makes me feel comfortable living away from home and makes nights out hilarious. I have met one friend who I can strongly call my best friend she is amazing, we speak all day everyday and hate being away from her. I love spending time with her and our personalities are identical :) <3

4. It improves home life when you return.
I always have my mishaps and constant arguments with my family, but living away from home it makes you realise how lucky you're compared to others. It also strengthens the bond between you and your family, meaning coming home is relaxing, you get a few cheeky gifts and you look forward to the day you get to visit.

5. How cheap the nights out are.I can easily go out with a tenner into Southampton and come back with change. That will get me a taxi ride there and back, a few drinks and sometimes a naughty cone of cheesy chips. Whereas if I was at home, I'd take £30 out that would all be gone and that wouldn't even cover the taxi. Although it's pretty dangerous having such cheap drink deals in a student city with so many party animals about ha, Southampton definitely provides the best nights out :)

One of many of the beautiful parks which I walk through everyday to get to university and town, aswell as hanging out when it's a sunny day with friends :) It's mahoosive!
