Year 2 of university has arrived and it seems that I have neglected my blog... To say the work load this year is manageable would be an understatement, but with headaches and many sticky notes later, I surprisingly manage to get it all completed!
A total of two months I have been away from my family and friends in Gloucestershire. At times I have been pretty home sick and just wanted to get on a train and go back to a warm, clean home and to enjoy my mums cooking.
However, last weekend I was fortunate enough to go home for my mum's birthday and spend a lovely four-day weekend there (thanks to my flexible timetable). This consisted of: family meals, nights out with the besties, spoilt-rotton shopping trips with the parents, movie nights and getting to see my brother and his girlfriend. It was so lovely <3 I was also able to go back and drive Fiona (my car), which I haven't been able to since early August due to being in cast with a broken foot- silly me.
After such a fun weekend, I didn't want to go back to Southampton! :( I always dread the long train journey home on your own, in the dark, usually packed with students going back to university too. It's always a frog in the throat moment when you have to wave goodbye to your Dad on the platform and not being able to see him for at least another month. But as soon as I'm back in my student house I'm happy again :)
Bring on the Christmas holidays!!
